More Sickness

Well, I thought all this sickness was over around here, but on the way to Church yesterday Dad got sick all of a sudden, and we had to take him back home. He hasn’t been able to go to work today. Please continue to pray for him.
We had a big surprise yesterday.
Bro. Claude came to church! Bro. Claude is an elderly man who used to attend our church, but while we were in MD, he had to move in with his son, so we haven’t seen him in about 5 years. He is such a blessing! I had been telling mom that since Shanna got to see her special “Birthday Friend” (Bro. Willie) before her birthday, that I wanted to see my special friend, Bro. Claude, before mine. (March 23rd.) As soon as our Sunday school class was let out, I heard his voice and looked at Susanna. She said, “I know that voice!” And I was thinking, “It can’t be! It can’t be!” I was so excited! (Come to find out, we are “birthday friends” too. His birthday is 8 days from mine!) His daughter brought him. She was real nice. It was an answer to prayer to get to see him.
Well, this is all I have time to write. I need to finish before the power company turns our power off. (They are putting up new lines.)

Hi Gera,

I will continue to pray for your
Dad to be healed and for God to
continue extending His mercy to
keep the rest of you from catching
the bug. It sounds like when it finds a place to latch on it isn't
in any hurry to leave. My mother -
in-law had a relapse with the same
thing again today. On the days I
visit her in the hospital though
she seems to have a better attitude
about the situation of being there
than I thought she would because
she always dreading going to the
doctor thinking they would put her
in the hospital. God gives grace in
our times of need. Hallelujah!
The fact that you and Claude
almost share birthdays like Shanna and Willie is a strange but special coincidence indeed. I
wish I had of taken the time to
tell him I still had special
memories of his wife Grace since
her birthday was Jan 23. I'm sure
he still thinks of her because
when I would go see them she would say after all their years of
marriage it was like they were
still on their honeymoon. It
is so special to see couples
whom God has brought together
that continue to share love
and stay together till death
separates them. It seems to be
a rare blessing these days. It
requires commitment to God first
of all then to each other plus
a heaping dose of effort and
sacrifice sometimes, but as I
said before, Gods' grace is
sufficient. Well guess what it's
my bed time again so off I go.
Good night, and God bless. Jewel

Hey!

How special that you got to see Bro. Clyde! Don't you just love when God answers the "little" prayers?! (No prayer is little, but I think you know what I mean...)

Gera, you're right about the Bible characters... aren't they cute? And thanks for your comment and encouragement! I love reading here, too!

Praying that you all will get rid of the bug soon!

Mrs. Jewel,
Thanks. We appreciate your prayers. I never got to meet Mrs. Grace...she died I think a year after we started coming to the church. We did go to the funeral home, though. Bro. Claude is a great encouragement!

Lindsey,
Yeah, I know what you mean. :) It is so special when God answers our prayers. Well, I know he answers our prayers every time, but not always the way we want. :)
Yeah, those Bible character drawings were adorable! I bet you have a lot of fun teaching your students.
