God’s Recycling

When we woke up this morning we looked out the back door. There wasn’t as much snow there as there was yesterday. I thought that was strange, because the temperature was still below freezing. Then we looked out the front door and saw what had happened…the wind had blown the snow around all night, and had formed a 2-foot drift in front of our vehicles. No wonder there wasn’t as much snow in the back yard! So Dad and Shanna went to plow out the church parking lot. While they were plowing the truck got stuck several times in the snow, then finally got stuck in the mud. After lunch they went back out and finally got the truck out. Dad called a man from church to finish plowing. That was our adventure for today.
The temperature is now 37 degrees. The sun is out, but the “weather phone” is calling for more snow.
Dad got a good report from the doctor yesterday. He is healing well. The doctor was surprised how good the surgery sight looked. Praise God! He still can’t lift for a while and has some restrictions. He’s cut back on his pain medicine.
Yesterday Gerald Jr. had gotten a small dollhouse lamp and was holding it in his mouth without our notice. He tripped with it in his mouth! It cut a place under his tongue and it started bleeding. He cried a lot while we were trying to get a good look at it, but he finally calmed down. Then last night I had him asleep with me until 1:15 am when he woke up. I then gave him to Mom and went to bed. All of a sudden Gerald started crying upstairs. I figured, “Oh, he’s getting his diaper changed. No big deal.” But then Mom brought him downstairs. He was still crying. I went into the living room to see what was the matter. She told me that he wasn’t nursing right…that the sore in his mouth was uncomfortable to him. So I held him while Mom spoon-fed him his milk. He didn’t like that at all. Mom finally tried to feed him again, and he sucked good. Thank God it wasn’t anything real bad. This morning his mouth looked a lot better.
Well, that’s all for now. Have a great evening!
