Working Outside

We had another productive Saturday. The girls, except Shanna, had art lessons in the morning with their grandpa. Shanna is still suffering with poison from last Saturday’s work. Then all but Shanna worked outside. She worked on building me three crosses to put outside for Easter. And she also got me out some spring flower arrangements for the inside.
Outside we got the foundation pressure washed after all the rain we’ve had. The two Geralds hauled mulch and put it all the way around the house. Now maybe the foundation will stay cleaner with the next rain. I like the color red, but not on a white foundation. :) Sarah and I dug up weeds all around the flowerbeds. Ryana worked on trimming back the monkey grass on the other side of the house and Gera (you’ve probably guessed it already) helped Shanna fix lunch and then made homemade cookies for our snack. Yum!
We also got weed killer put out on the driveway and other areas. Gerald was able to get his chain saw to stay cranked long enough to whine through two more big chunks of the fallen tree. And I worked in the evening pulling poison oak off the trees. I think I got all but one piece that wouldn’t let go form the top. I even tried swinging from it, and it still wouldn’t come loose. Gerald will have to get it one day when his chain saw will cooperate. We’re waiting for the next big rain before Shanna works in that part. There was a lot of dust falling with each piece I pulled. It went in my eyes, in my mouth, all over my hair and clothing. I’ve never been allergic to it and I’m praying I’m still not. But if I am I wanted to make it count and get it all so Shanna can get back to her outdoor fun.
On Sunday we had another pleasant visit with the elderly widow that lives nearby. We always get a blessing when we visit her.
Blessings to you all,
~Vicky~
