I know! I know! It’s been a long time since I’ve updated! Sorry! :( We have been to several meeting this week and last. On Thursday evening of last week we went to a Missions Conference at a nearby church. The preachers that night were Bro. R. B. Ouellette and Bro. Stinnett Ballew. They had wonderful sermons!
We also got to see Bro. Jack Tripp and Sis. Linette. We didn’t know they were going to be there! It was a great blessing to see them again.
After the services we were invited over to the fellowship hall for a delicious meal. There were different missions tables lined up along the walls. One table had a humongous snakeskin wrapped around it. Boy, was it scary looking!
On each eating table there was a beta fish in a vase. It was interesting to watch them swim around while we were eating.
Friday morning Mom took us to the meetings. That time we got to hear Bro. Al Barker and Stinnett Ballew. Afterwards we ate lunch in the fellowship hall. We had another surprise…Bro. Scott Kidwell, a pastor in Maryland, and his family were there. We hadn’t seen them in almost a year. It was a blessing to see them again.
Friday night when Dad got home from work we all headed back to the meetings. Bro. R. B. Ouellette and Bro. Ronnie Simpson were the preachers. Once again, they were tremendous messages.
Sunday night we had a missionary family at our church, and come to find out, they were at the conference last weekend! Sure enough, when I went through all my prayer cards, I found theirs. They were a real blessing, and the children were all very lovable! :) The littlest one, who is 2 ½, came to me while I was adjusting the organ, and wanted to sit beside me. She was so cute!
Monday evening we once again piled into our 11 passenger van and drove an hour away to a church where a good evangelist friend of ours, Bro. Brian McBride and his family were going to be. It was wonderful to hear the family sing again, and to hear Bro. McBride preach. It felt like the Mason-Dixon Camp Meeting! (The camp meeting that our former Pastor Coblentz has every year in MD.) We were only missing the other 2 preachers and the church members from up there. :) Bro. McBride preached on the tongue that night.
After the service the McBrides invited us over to the fellowship hall to “help” them eat some sandwich fixings. We stayed until 11:00 pm fellowshipping with them.
Tuesday night we went back again to the revival. The Pastor asked us to sing, so we sang, “I’ll Not Turn My Back On Him Now”. Bro. McBride preached on judging others. After service I brought my mandolin in so they could tell me what to do to get this buzzing sound out of it. They told me to take the pick guard off. Why didn’t I think of that!?! :)
Well, I think that’s enough for now.

Yes, the missionary's children were adorable! After the service, they all played my mandolin quite a bit. Then after I put it in the case, the two youngest "helped" me carry it, and the oldest helped by carrying my songbook. They were so cute and friendly!
