Easter and Birthday :)

Hope you all had an enjoyable Easter and Lord’s Day. Ours was great! Our pastor had a great sermon on “the road to Emmaus”. My Grandpa Hurley came to our church in the A.M. and then ate lunch at our house. We had ham, mashed potatoes, yams, green beans, slaw and deviled eggs. For dessert we had cherry cheesecake…Gera’s favorite dish. :) After we ate we all went up to “granny’s house”, a.k.a. “Shanna’s World” to show Grandpa the improvements in the house and gardens. While there my grandpa and grandma Miller and Uncle Mark came over. They all headed indoors, and when I got to the doorway Shanna wouldn’t let me in! She said I couldn’t come in until everyone else was in. “Hmmm…what is going on?” I wondered. When I finally came in I was presented with my very own hope chest! I was so excited! This particular cedar chest had belonged to Grandma Miller, then to Mom. Shanna repainted it and put new upholstery on the cushion, plus made me a wall hanging to match! I love them! I’m already making a list of things to go in it. :)Here’s you some pictures.

Gotta run!

Oh, that's really neat! I've always wanted a hope chest, I look at them every time I see one somewhere. Glad you had a good birthday, and now you've caught up with me again for another few months. :P

(sorry if this comment is duplicated, something messed up and I may be commenting twice...don't really know what I'm doing cause of my medicine from my wisdom teeth, haha)

Hi Gera,
I'm glad you had a special birthday
and Easter. I posted you a comment
before but I guess I didn't do the
word verification or something since you said you didn't get it. I
was afraid I had said something wrong when I noticed all the other post and mine wasn't included. I'm glad you
cleared that up for me when you said you didn't get it.
It was really nice of Shanna to be willing to pass up the chance
to keep the hope chest for herself since she is the oldest and fix it up for you, but I'm not surprised
since your family are all so nice
to each other.
You had about the very same thing for lunch as I did except I didn't have slaw but also had macaroni and cheese and potatoe salad with peach cobbler for dessert. I guess us mountain folk know what's good to eat. lol We ate at my mother-in-laws house but she wasn't able to
be up on her feet to help cook
this year because her legs are swollen so bad.
Our Pastor did have a good message
Sunday as always and I'm glad some of my family that doesn't usually
come was there to hear it. Please
pray for my son in law that isn't
saved and my younger daughter who
says she is but doesn't attend
church or live a live that is
pleasing to God. I believe the Lord
is speaking to their hearts and I'm
praying they will listen and obey.
I too must obey Him now and get
off the computer and get my
grandson to bed. He has been staying the week with us since
school is out and I must confess
I haven't been getting him to
bed early enough but have been
enjoying having them here and
watching some movies together.
Well I'll close for now, goodnight! Love Jewel

Susanna,
Hope you get to feeling better! We really missed you last night!

Myerly Family,
Thanks!

Laura,
She did, didn't she? :)

Mrs. Jewel,
Yeah....Shanna got a hope chest when she was 16. It's really pretty, too. :)

Hey, Gera!

Happy Birthday! :)

I have a hope chest too, but it's really small (or at least compared to yours!). But I like it!
