Our Past Week and a Half

Whew! Another busy week gone by! Friday, October 19th, we went to a fall festival at a church school, where some of Dad’s coworkers’ children go. The evening started out with 4 hilarious skits. After the skits we went outside and Gerald Jr. got to sit on a John Deere tractor owned by one of Dad’s bosses, which is my great-great aunt’s nephew. :) Then we went on a hay ride. We had a wonderful time.
This past Tuesday we gave Mom an early birthday meal, because Dad would be working on her birthday (Fri. 26th) and Shanna and I would be selling tickets at the Farmpark’s Horse and Mule Days (the Farmpark is owned by my aunt’s parents) and Wednesday and Thursday evenings were filled with church and church activities. Anyway, the meal consisted of my dad’s special grilled chicken and shrimp, fried okra, lemonade, etc. (Can’t remember the rest.:) ) Oh, and of course we had birthday cake. :)
On Thursday night we went ahead and gave Mom her gifts. One of them was a CD we made with a special message from each of us. I think she liked it. :) On her birthday she had a little Tea Party with the younger ones.
Friday Dad took us to the Farmpark. It was pouring rain. We were thankful for the rain, but we knew that would affect the business, because almost everything was out doors. We did get to see a cowboy show for free, though. It was supposed to be on a train ride, but the train wasn’t running due to the rain. The show was hilarious! They had this young guy playing as an old man with a hearing problem. He talked real high pitched when acting. I’m not going to tell you the “story”, because ya’ll just need to come to the Southeast Old Threshers’ Reunion in July and see the show for yourselves. :)
Oh! We also got to sing the National Anthem to start things off! It was so neat! We got to do it on Saturday morning, too!
Saturday was a much more promising day…sun shiny! We sold a lot more tickets that day. Ryana and Sarah helped with stamping hands and tearing tickets, and Dad worked the gate.
We got off work at 4:30. Mom came over with Gerald and Faith just in time for the last special train ride. (Mom was really wanting Dad to take Gerald Jr. on the ride.) Well, the engineer knew us, and told us that since we were kin to Tim (my Dad’s brother, who’s wife is the owner’s daughter) that they would take care of our tickets. Wasn’t that so kind!?! We really enjoyed the ride and the cowboy show.
Well, there’s the update. Hope I didn’t bore you to death. :)

I enjoyed reading your update. It is
great to be part of a big family(especially Gods') because somehow
through someone He always makes a way to bless and supply His
children with what they need and
sometimes a whole lot more. It's
wonderful to hear about a family that still takes time to participate together in work and play, and I'm sure that is possible because you take time to pray. The family that prays
together, stays together, Amen
and good-night. LOL Jewel
