Fishing, Feasting, and Fingerspelling

Hey again! It’s me again! I’m late again! :)
On Saturday, September 8th, we (our family and our cousin Landry) went fishing at a pond on our road, owned by an elderly lady. When we first got there, she showed us her puppies she’s trying to get rid of (no, we didn’t take one. :)) The girls loved playing with them. Ok! Ok! I loved playing with them too!! :)
We had a lot of fun fishing. Everybody caught 2 or 3 fish except me. I caught 10. :)
On Tuesday the 11th we went to a camp meeting nearby, where our pastor was preaching. Our church choir sang three songs, we girls sang two songs (Blood Bought My Freedom and Gonna Stand By Me,) then the choir leader and his family sang a song. During our song, I handed Sarah the words, so if Shanna forgot the words to the verses, she could look at them. Afterwards, the pastor who was having the meeting said from the pulpit, “Why did they give that little girl with the hat (meaning Sarah) the words? She never looked at them and probably couldn’t read them!:)” What he didn’t realize was that she is 8 years old and in the 4th grade! :) A lot of people mistake her for being younger.
Oh, I almost forgot. When we first got to the meeting, we went up to one of our friends from our church, and Shanna saw that she had two different shoes on! Shanna asked her if that was a new style. She looked down, cried, “Wee wee wee!” and ran all the way home. Just kidding. :) Her mom gave her the shoes she was wearing, and got a pair of different shoes that just happened to be in the car. Of course, her mom’s shoes were too big for her, but it was still better than one white sandal and one blue one. :)
Wednesday the 12th marked one year since my mom’s mom died. During the time she was dying, we played a CD with soft, soothing Christian songs on it, and one of the songs was “We Are Standing On Holy Ground”. That song was a comfort to Mom during that time. When Grandma passed away at exactly 7:00am, the song that was playing was “God Gives You His Grace.” The words were so appropriate! Well, on the 12th we sang both of those songs in memory of Grandma. We miss her, but we know she’s better off where she is now.
Last Saturday we went to a park for the Church’s Sunday School Picnic. There were trails to walk, food to eat, and wiffle ball to play. It was a lot of fun. Especially wiffle ball. All the kids participated in that.
Sunday we had a deaf missionary to the deaf come and give her testimony. She was a real encouragement. She could read lips and speak. Sarah enjoyed learning some sign language and talking with her. Gerald Jr. knows some sign language too. He knows “Mom” and “Dad” and he kind of knows “Deer”. We’re working on that one. :) Oh yeah! He also knows how to sign “I love you.”
Dad is doing good with his new job. He was a little nervous at first, but is getting the hang of it now.
Well, that’s about it for now. Hopefully I’ll have another post ready by Monday and let you know how our Revival is going. It’s September 23rd through the 28th at 7:30 each week night, 6:00 pm on Sunday night. Come if you can!

Ha ha ha, let's all make fun of the girl who's so stressed she can't even put on her shoes right, yay, fun times, ha ha, let's all point and laugh. (Considering I'm laughing at myself now, I think you are safe to laugh too, I guess it's ok... LOL! :P )

You are so funny. Funny girl, over there! :)
Well, at least you haven't made that mistake since then. :)

Gera,
looking forward to reading more adventures! By the way, how do you find the time etc to write all the details that you do? I'd love to do that, but I just can't seem to think of enough, or even to write down what I think of!

Sharon,
I usually write up these posts while Gerald Jr. is asleep, then type them when I visit my grandparents. A lot of those details I remember myself, but with as many sisters as I have, they don't let you forget anything. :) LOL!

Sounds like ya'll are staying busy!! I hope that the revival went well.
Speaking of sign language, my sisters and I plan on taking classes again from the young lady in church who teaches it.
