We had Sarah at the dentist on Tuesday to have her second tooth pulled. This time she was a little wiser to his motives for asking if her mouth was “feeling a little funny” yet. She wasn’t too quick to agree. But soon the tooth was out and Sarah could relax back into the chair. She had straightened her body out so much she almost appeared to be levitating. She was a lot more nervous this time and really let out a cry. Everyone turned and looked at us as we entered back into the waiting room. I smiled, looked at Gerald and Gera and told them, “She didn’t even know when it was pulled. As soon as I told her, ‘Oh, Sarah, it’s out,’ she calmed immediately.” Everyone laughed and Sarah even tried a smile. We later picked up some things at Wal-mart and her dad got her a slinky…the real metal kind. It was a hit today with everyone snowed in. We’ve gotten 8 more inches of snow and now it’s sleeting-yuck! But more snow is to come today, tomorrow and Thursday.
Gerald has been on the phone trying to get us a date set for our church to go skating. It’s nice to have something to look forward to with it so wintery outside. We’ve tried to prepare incase the sleet and freezing rain causes our power to go off. We’ve made a huge pot of soup and bread. The propane lantern, oil lamp, candles, matches, batteries, flashlights and gas heater are all ready. We have drinking water and we’ve filled up both bathtubs to flush the commodes with. We’ve all taken baths and the laundry is done. So all we can do now is pray it doesn’t go off. Shanna is getting some sewing done and I’ve gotten the tax stuff out. Gera will update on the weather as she can.
