Our Valentine's Day

There they were, having a peaceful, quiet, dinner for two on this special day.

Well, I don’t know about quiet. Notice the background.

At least they had their own table!

We had a wonderful day yesterday. Gerald Jr. gave each of his sweethearts some bubble gum, and gave Mom some Red Hots candy, and Dad gave each of his sweethearts some socks or bedroom slippers and some noisy Flarp putty. Yes, Dad picked that out himself :)
Dad gave his sweetest sweetheart (which would be Mom, of course :)) a locket that says “Forever in My Heart”. On the inside was a picture of her mom, that passed away last September, and on the right side were Grandma’s full name, date of birth and date of death. Needless to say, there were lots of tears during the presentation of this gift. We all agree that it was the perfect gift for Mom.
Later we played Bible Bingo, and Mom and Dad gave out prizes (Squeeze-its, squealing balloon rockets and Bubba teeth). We had a wonderful time.
Church was called off because of bad weather. We got 5 inches of snow then 6 inches of sleet on top of that on Tuesday, then on Valentines Day we got 8 inches of snow. But what does that matter? We were all warm and cozy inside with those that we love…our family and God.

Comment and let us know how your Valentine’s Day went with your families!

Yay! Sounds like a lot of fun! My Valentines Day was pretty good too. My friend gave me a rose (and no, it wasn't from a guy, haha) and then we both spent every class eating candy...and then sometimes paying attention to the teacher...but mostly just eating candy :P hehe. From my parents, I also got some purple socks (woohoo!!!) and this silky purple blouse that I happened to find on sale when I was with dad...and then...I had more candy. Yay! Holidays are great.

Oh, I almost forgot...I also got two Valentines from Corey and Makayla. Makayla's was a decorative heart she made in Sunday school, but Corey's was basically a blank sheet of paper with a scribble in the middle. But of course it's the thought that counts... :)

Susanna,
So glad you clarified that...about the rose. Ha!

LOL!! The pics of your dad and mom's "dinner for 2" was funny. :) That was cute, Gera!

I got candy from my momma, homemade valentines from my sisters and a silk rose from one of my piano students. I also got several greetings over the computer.
