Snow!!

Well, I prayed hard against the snow coming this week, but it came anyway. :) That’s ok. It’s still pretty. :) At least there isn’t anywhere we have to go today. Our road is still full of snow…there hasn’t been any salt put out on it. Shanna got up and started putting our “Stock Pot Stew” together (our tradition every time we have snow.) :) Hopefully we will get to have some snow cream later. :)
Pastor Brian Workman of Community Baptist Church called Dad Saturday night and asked him if he would preach the following Sunday evening at his church, to “kick off” their revival that they are having Monday through Thursday of this week. Of course Dad said yes. :) Unfortunately Dad woke up Sunday morning with his stomach churning. He drove us to our church, but wasn’t able to go in himself. We prayed for him, all morning and afternoon, that God would heal him in time to preach last night. Well, he still wasn’t feeling well when we arrived at Community Baptist. The choir sang a song, then Bro. Workman called us girls up to sing. We sang “One More Mile”, “One of These Days”, “I Have a Goodly Heritage” and “Yes, I Will Be There”. Then Dad went up to preach, and you wouldn’t have thought he had been sick at all. God was really helping him, and used him for His service. Dad preached on revival, and the real meaning of the last days before Christ comes back for the saved. And how we don’t require a sign to know it’s the last days, that Jesus is returning because He said He was – not because of the economy or anything else. And, praise God, one teenage boy got saved after the service!
We had a wonderful service at our church Sunday morning, as well. The Spirit of the Lord descended, and filled the church. Pastor never even got to preach his message. During one of the special songs called “I Cast All My Cares Upon You”, people started coming down and weeping on the altar. It was a very moving service. I only wish Dad could have been in there to hear it. I forgot to take an ear bud out there to him so he could listen. :(
Back to Sunday night – as we drove over to Community Baptist, it started sleeting, and by the time service was over, the sleet had turned to snow and it had covered the vehicles. All the kids were very excited, and couldn’t wait to play in it.
Hopefully, we are going to try to go to some of the revival services this week. I don’t think we are going tonight, though, because of how bad the roads are. This amount of snow was nothing in Maryland, because they budgeted for more salt for the roads. But since we don’t get snow that often down here, it finds us unprepared when it does come. :( Hopefully it will get warmer soon and melt the snow off the roads. Hmmm…it’s not calling for snow anymore this week, is it? :)

Thanks for the update. PRAISE THE LORD that your Dad got to feeling better so he was able to preach and for the soul that was saved.
It is so sweet and precious when the Spirit of the Lord moves in our midst the way He did Sunday. It is such a blessing to be a part of the church that has liberty and freedom to worship God without having certain restrictions or programs that MUST be followed.
I'm thankful for the good old fashioned preaching and singing we are able to hear and for the ones that are faithful to attend to listen because we all have a part in doing Gods' service and being an encouragement to others. Keep on keeping on for Jesus, because you and your family are a very special blessing. Love Jewel
