Update

Just wanted to update you on my dad’s health. On May 15th he had to go back on pain medicine because of another attack of pain in his side. He went four months this time without an attack. This time has been worse. It’s not letting up like the other times. Last Sunday was terrible for him. He got sick several times at church. Monday Mom was able to get him in to see a new urologist. (In case you didn’t know, Dad has had pain ever since his kidney stone surgery 2 years ago. Two urologists in Maryland and West Virginia couldn’t find the cause.) He had tests and scans run all week. His kidneys, liver and gallbladder are checking out normal. We praise the Lord for that, but he’s still in pain and throwing up. He was out of work last week and may be this week. He is scheduled to see a surgeon on Wednesday to discuss exploratory surgery. They want to look for scarred tissue among other things. Please pray for Dad. His Father’s Day was spent at home while we went to church. It’s hard to watch him in so much pain.

I've been thinking about y'all so much lately, and I've been reminded of the words to one of my favorite songs...
"Lord what can I do? For I want to do my part, and I want to help the hurting with all of my heart. I can pray, until the walls come down, til there's healing all around; that's something I can do. I can pray, in my secret place, calling on Your name; that's something I can do. I can pray."
I love you all, and you are in my constant thought and prayer. Now that I am home and out of school, if there is ever anything I can do to help, don't hesitate to give me a call. We would love to help out in any way we can.

May God bless and strengthen your family in these difficult times. I know everything is in His hands, and His grace is sufficient. We'll keep praying.

Much love,
Susanna

Hi Gera,
Thanks for the update. I'm sorry
your Dad has again been in so much
pain and was unable to be at our
church service on Fathers' day.
The songs your family sang were
beautiful and appropiate for the
special day. I, among many others
I'm sure, am praying that he will
soon be better and able again to
be back to worship with us at
church and of course work also
since I'm sure if you're like me
it's very difficult to get money
to grow on trees especially in
the heat we've been getting and
without any rain. Yet it is great
to know, God is still in control;
and is able to take care of our every need, no matter how many mouths in the home there is to feed. I trust that your families
needs are being meet, if not it's
probably because all our prayers
haven't been answered yet. So keep
us informed about your father's
health condition, and if there's
anything I can do let me know
since I don't always have good
intuition. ttyl Love Jewel

Susanna,
Thank you so much for the encouragement! We really appreciate your prayers. We know that you and your family would do anything for us if we asked. You've been a great friend. God bless you!

Laura,
I will try to have an update on here at least by Thursday (but don't hold me to it...I never know what may come up.) Thanks for your prayers!

Mrs. Jewel,
Yeah, I haven't seen any "money trees" growing around here lately. :) God has been taking care of our needs, sometimes even before we know they're there. Thank you for your prayers.
