Our church just finished up a week of morning and evening services focusing on our young people. It was held outdoors under “the Tabernacle” at the same place our annual Campmeeting is held. Several churches came from out of town and out of state as well as many locals. I’m not sure of the final count, but there were a few hundred in attendance. (mostly young people.)
It was a blessing seeing young people get saved and getting help on the altar. We had two from our church to get saved. The music and the preaching was very Christ-honoring. Several churches came together with us to help feed everyone. It was a blessing to see such unity of Christians during such a time as we are living in.
We were plenty tired after the Friday morning’s last service, lunch and clean-up, but it was “a good kind-of tired.” Shanna came home and mowed and prepared supper. Me, Gera and Mary left to get groceries. Ryana, Sarah, Faith and Gerald Jr. helped me pick beans and other veggies while Gera took care of Mary and got Mary to sleep. Then the girls raked the yard until they couldn’t see. I got two loads of laundry done to get a little caught up. Gerald studied for some up-coming preaching he has. So we all fell into bed last night, ready for sleep. :)
We are still catching up today. We have food to get ready and deliver to a wedding, produce to put up, ironing, three more loads of clothes to finish, raking the yard, weed-eating, budgeting, and putting the rest of the groceries away. I made a list before going to sleep last night so we could keep it all going. Gerald works half a day today and Shanna will be gone a few hours helping a lady in town with alterations. So if you stop by today, just grab a broom, rake or hoe and join in. It’s not always this busy around here, but it’s usually busy enough. We have meetings next week (National Sword of the Lord Conference) (click to view their website) that we look forward to each year. We get to see some of our friends from Maryland there and I sometimes buy some of the children’s school subjects there in the vendor part of the gymnasium. Our children do some of their birthday and Christmas shopping there, too. It’s all Kind James material…what a blessing!
Well, back to work. Love you all!
