The next day we went to visit our friend Bro. Willie, who shares Shanna’s birthday. He’s a little older…94, to be exact. :) The residents were all waiting in the foyer to be called for supper, and while they were waiting, we were asked to sing for them. Bro. Willie is such a blessing to our family.
Thursday a week ago we attended a revival service at our friends’ church. Their Christian school had a contest going, giving them points for each visitor they invited. Our family counted for a lot of points. :)
Last Saturday our family and our pastor’s family attended a revival service in Winston-Salem. The visiting Missionary who preached was Bro. Jimmy Rose, field Director for Brazil. We always enjoy hearing Bro. Rose preach when he’s nearby.
We girls sang four songs for the service. Afterwards an eleven year-old boy named Chase came and asked if we had a CD of our music. Thankfully, we had some with us. This was the first day he’d been to church. He seemed really tender towards the gospel. Please pray for Chase.
Sunday night after church we had our monthly birthday fellowship. Shanna made barbecue deer and pepperoni rolls (with the help of Faith,) and Sarah, Ryana and Faith cut up vegetables for me to put together a seven-layer salad. After we ate, the youth made Valentines Day cards for the residents of the local nursing home.
Dad is now back at his old job after being unemployed since the end of October. Unfortunately, business is still really slow right now. We are praying for God’s will for the future. He will be preaching Sunday morning and evening at a church near Walburg, NC, and Wednesday he’ll be preaching in Level Cross, NC.
Wednesday night Shanna, Susanna from church, and I sang two songs: “Boundless Love” and “But for the Blood”.
Today, we had a wonderful visit with my aunt and uncle Ralph and Betty, my cousin Laura, and her daughter Elizabeth. Elizabeth enjoyed getting to hold Mary Linette.
Today, Ryana, Sarah, Faith and Gerald Jr. decorated two gingerbread houses.
Mary turned 6 weeks old this past Tuesday, and is now 9 lbs, 2 oz.
"How do you like my new hat?"
Dad helped Gerald Jr. build a birdhouse a couple weeks ago.
God Bless!
