We’re on our 3rd week of school and it’s been smooth sailing so far. We took Labor Day off since Gerald was off, but we doubled up to make up for it. Then Shanna and Gera had orthodontist appointments on Thursday of that same week. It was a morning appointment so we had to do mobile schooling that day. I stayed in the van with the four younger ones since the office was full. Someone had been late for their appointment and off-set the schedule. We’re used to being flexible so we didn’t mind the wait. A lady pulled up beside us and began a conversation on her way in. She continued it when she came out. It led to the topic of homeschooling. She was thrilled. She had been wanting to talk to someone about it. I gave her information to look up on the internet and my name and number if she had questions. Our appointment was at 11:00 and the girls didn’t get done until 12:30. We had brought our lunch so we drove to a near by park to enjoy it. The kids played a while and then we were off to Aldi’s and Wal-mart to do our grocery shopping. Needless to say Gerald Jr. was sound asleep when we got home. He even stayed asleep when he was layed down.
We had appointments this week, too, but they were in the afternoon so it didn’t interrupt our school schedule. Monday was dental appointments with Gera, Ryana, Sarah and Faith getting cleanings. Gera also had to have a lower molar pulled for orthodontic reasons. They had to cut it in half first because of the way the roots were turned out. OUCH! She had to eat cold, soft baby-like foods for two days. Her head still aches some too. Her dad made it a little better by bringing her home a chocolate shake and giving her money for each tooth half.
My OB appointment is today, and it’s Sarah’s turn to go with me. We’ll be grocery shopping afterwards. I had everyone stay home an extra hour this morning to clean since I was going to be gone this evening. It made things run smoother.
Ryana and Sarah are enjoying working on their NC booklets this year. It’s nice to see the one with stronger drawing skills help the other with detailed map drawings. Faith is finishing up her last few weeks of kindergarten. We had to stop a few weeks short last year because of my morning sickness. She’s also doing some of her 1st grade work along with it. Her reading is going very well. She loves 1st grade math too. Gera still misses her school work, but stays plenty busy studying midwifery and CNA skills along with computer work and housekeeping. Shanna is still my main cook, but has handed a lot of the cleaning down to Gera. She now has more time to sew for herself and the girls. Each got new skirts added to their wardrobe this week. She organized an area of her craft house for Gera to do sewing projects, too. Gera is learning to get more organized with her things and time and now she has time to do some sewing.
I better get back to teaching.

Laura,
Mom's appointment went very well today. The doctor said that she measures up just right. :)
You know, if I knew I could get by with it, I would have bought everyone a milkshake on Monday, just to get by without having my tooth pulled. :) LOL!
I am feeling better now, thanks! It only hurts where they stuck the needle in.

Hi, Thanks for the update. I knew you had to have a lot going on and
it was just a matter of finding the time to share it with us. I
haven't been checking the anniversary list and I wasn't aware your family just celebrated one. Thank God for His blessings upon you and your special family. Hope things continue to go well,
I know everyone is looking forward to the new addition. Have you got
a long list of names to choose from
now or have you narrowed it down
already? Well I need to get to work
so blessings on everyone. Love Jewel
