On to Another Hospital

Yesterday Dad was still feeling pretty bad. After how he was treated yesterday, he was apprehensive about going to another hospital. Three ladies from a neighboring church stopped by and were a real encouragement to us. While they were here, Shanna went upstairs and finally talked Dad into going to the hospital that is here in town. Two of the ladies stayed a little while after we had left and prayed with my sisters.

When we got to the hospital they took Dad on back. Mom gave the receptionists the info, and then they let her go back too. Gerald Jr. and I found a corner in the waiting room.

After a while Mom called me and told me that the nurses had hooked dad up to an IV and had brought him a blanket, plus had given him two different types of pain medicine. This hospital was actually helping! A little while later the doctor came in and talked to Mom and Dad. He said they would need to do a colonoscopy (?). They admitted him to the hospital, and are going to do the colonoscopy today around noon. Please pray for Dad right now. They will probably be keeping him until Saturday.

A man from our church came and stayed with me in the waiting room. I was very glad for that, because I wasn’t as nervous being in there by myself with some “questionable” characters that I didn’t know.

Another thing that happened yesterday while we were at the ER was that a lady from our church brought her 20 year-old son in. He works with his dad building houses. He had been using a nail gun and had placed a nail right between his finger and thumb on his right hand, going straight in. OUCH! Surprisingly, though, it didn’t bleed much. It was stuck in about 2 ½ inches. He was trying to act like it didn’t hurt. When he was finally done, he came out with his hand all bandaged up in a cast. He might have to have surgery on his hand, if infection sets in. Please pray about this as well.

His mom came out carrying the nail in a piece of gauze and it was still bloody. She said she was going to put it in her scrapbook! 8^)

Well, that’s the update on the Miller family as of right now. I’ll try to keep you posted.

Hello Miller Family,
We just wanted to let y'all know that we are praying for you. We pray that the situation with Mr. Miller will be resolved shortly. We would love to help if we could, but there are only about 3,000 miles between us.(That might create some difficulty) But we will keep y'all in our prayers.

Myerly Family,
Thank you for letting us know that you would like to be here. That means a lot. Thank you, too, for your prayers. Yeah, 3,000 miles could make a little bit of a difficulty. 8^)Thanks for stopping by!

I am glad you all found another hospital and that this one seems interested in helping. Surely Gerald is out of pain, at least for now? We'll be praying for all of you. I know it takes it's toll on the whole family when one is so sick. Thanks for the updates Gera! :)

Love,

Laura
