I had a wonderful time on my 16th birthday last Friday. For breakfast we had tater tots, sausage and eggs. I made sure I didn’t eat very much, because I knew I would be going out with Dad for lunch. After we ate, I opened the cards I had received in the mail. A little while later, Mom called me into the living room and said the door was for me. I opened it, and there stood Dad with a dozen roses and baby’s breath. I had never received a dozen roses before! Afterwards I went to the computer to look up directions to the closest Ryan’s Restaurant. Then I rushed to my room to get changed into my pink flowery skirt and top. After a couple of pictures of Dad and I, we were ready to go. We found out that the closest Ryan’s was 1 hour and ½ away, so we had to leave early. Once there, we both got our plates full of food from the buffet, and sat down at our table. Thankfully, we were seated at a table that was close to a wooden ledge, so I had a place to set my camera to take pictures of Dad and I together. After we ate, Dad gave me a box with a bow on top, and inside was a key and heart breakaway charm. That was to represent the key to my heart, which is in the hands of my dad. When it is my wedding day, Dad will present my husband with this charm.
Then Dad handed me another box, and inside of it was a daughter’s ring. It has my name on the left of three hearts, and my birth date on the right. Inside the heart in the middle was my birthstone (Aquamarine,) the one on the left had Dad’s birthstone (Diamond) and the one on the right has Mom’s (some type of pink stone. 8^) ) It is very special knowing that my first diamond came from my dad.
When we were done at the restaurant, we picked up some things from Aldi’s Grocery Store, and then headed back home. We were stuck in traffic for a little while, due to a transfer truck tipping over. We passed two other wrecks besides that one. When we got home, my sisters wanted me to open my presents. After that was over, we had supper. I had a wonderful all-around day. Below are some pictures.

Oh, how neat!! I'm sure you really enjoyed that special time with your dad. I've been on at least 3 b-day dates with my daddy too.
I really like the way your family decorated your b-day table!! The cake was cute too!
Looks like a special day! Thanks a lot for sharing the pictures. Happy belated birthday.
Laura :)
Courtney,
Yes, I did enjoy my time with Dad! 8^) Shanna and Mom did the decor. I liked it a lot, too! And the cake tasted as good as it looked. 8^)
Laura,
Your welcome for the pictures! I did have a lot of fun! Thanks for the Birthday wish!
I'm glad you had a wonderful birthday! The pictures are great; the table, cake, and ring are all beautiful! :D
Time sure has flown by. It seems not to long ago when I first met you girls and your were so young. Now Shanna is an adult, you can drive, Rhianna has hit the double digits, and Sarah and Faith can walk. Hope you had a great birthday. Sorry these are late birthday wishes but this week has been the first time that I have had a chance to check out your blog.
Have a great rest of the week.
MortonFamily5,
Yeah, time has flown by. I may be the age to drive, but I'm going to wait a little while before I go through Driver's Ed.
Love ya'll!
